Pledge to boycott The Last Airbender
The one color Hollywood can’t ignore is green.
Paramount has had a recent string of films that ignore or actively reject the full breadth of American society, including the unfortunate use of illiterate “jive-talking” robots and the lynching of an Asian-American man by car salesmen (shades of Vincent Chin).
Paramount is also suffering from a string of box office bombs. They are not faring well in the recession and are counting on profits from The Last Airbender – ticket sales, DVD release, and merchandising. This is the perfect moment for American consumers to tell Paramount that they will not support systematic casting bias in Hollywood – conscious or not.

Our volunteers received a lot of positive feedback during their trip to the ‘09 San Diego Comic-Con. One thing that got a lot of attention: the street team shirts! Now you can support the movement and spread the word in style:
Because of BlackLava’s close relationship with Asian-American causes, Racebending receives a full 100% of proceeds from all shirt sales. Funds are needed to maintain the web-site, purchase booth space at conventions, promotional material for distribution (fliers and flair), and further shirt printings.
