Press Relations

Racebending is actively and aggressively looking for greater press and media coverage. We need enthusiastic, persistent individuals with strong communication skills, who can clearly and persuasively carry our message to a wide media audience.

Responsibilities:

  • E-mailing online and print media outlets
  • Compiling and sending press kits
  • Writing and distributing press releases
  • Cold calling media outlets and individual members of the press

Desired skills:

  • Strong writing skills
  • Ability to speak clearly and persuasively
  • Press and media experience preferred

Staff Writers

We are looking for contributors who can provide engaging, informative, and compelling articles to be published at Racebending.com and our associated newsletter.

Please apply to mike@racebending.com with “Staff Writers Application” in the subject. Include a 300-500 word writing sample with your e-mail.

Responsibilities:

  • Writing articles based on pre-assigned topics (news, events, and essays)
  • Performing all the necessary research to back up article claims
  • Contributing new topic ideas for Racebending to cover

Desired Skills:

  • Strong writing ability
  • Ability to deliver material on-time and with consistent quality
  • Ability to properly research and cite material

Event Planners

As we coordinate events from Los Angeles to New York, we will need people who can organize gatherings, rally street team members, and foster enthusiasm at cities and campuses all over the country.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating with Racebending staff to create and plan street team events that attract publicity and media coverage
  • Handling logistics (acquiring venues, contacting volunteers, etc.)
  • Working with Racebending PR coordinators to advertise events ahead of time

Desired Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and deliver material to other staff members in a timely manner
  • Contacts with local groups / organizations a plus
