Racebending returns to SDCC with Super Asian America 2016

July 11, 2016

For our sixth consecutive year, Racebending will be hosting a panel at San Diego Comic-Con.

Flyer by Jef Castro

Join Gene Yang (New Super-Man), Keith Chow (Nerds of Color), Sarah Kuhn (Heroine Complex), Patrick Epino (Awesome Asian Bad Guys) and Christine Dinh (comics branding professional) in discussing the ever-evolving state of Asian Americans in media. Moderated by Racebending.com.

July 24, 2016         3:00-4:00pm         Room 29AB

As with last year’s panel, we’ll tackle everything from casting controversies (Dr. Strange, Ghost in the Shell) to fan campaigns (#StarringJohnCho, #WhiteWashedOut) to the nuts and bolts of working as an Asian American in the nerd culture industry.

In addition, we’re very excited to announce that you have a chance to win a giveaway for our panel!

Just share our flyer using the hashtags #SDCC and #SuperAsianAmerica on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. We’ll select 3 winners for our giveaway!

Winners will receive one of the following:

  • New Super-Man #1, by Gene Yang
  • Heroine Complex, by Sarah Kuhn
  • A Nerds of Color t-shirt, courtesy of Keith Chow

We’ll also be doing giveaways for those who attend the panel. So don’t miss it!
